I’ve progressed this a bit further today now tha

I’ve progressed this a bit further today now that I’ve settled on a palette. I’ve been adding washes and defining some areas to make bold whilst keeping harmony with the surrounding marks. I like the translucent feel to this section of the painting which I’m hoping to keep whilst I build layers.

So true. It’s a way of life. Even when I am not physically creating I am observing life and my reaction and participation to it as I gather information and ideas to bring back to the studio. It’s the continuous enquiry that fulfills me.

Started a new painting and feeling the need to introduce text. I have no set plan just a couple of loose ideas. I haven’t really settled on a palette either! I going to photograph some areas which I’d print and add to my journal to mark this time exploring new territory.

I used to paint the sides of my panels as a continuation of the painting but I’m now playing around using a grey mix instead. When it’s dried it will be a shade or two darker so I’d reassess again!

Do you have any preference on the colours you use on the sides? I’d love to know!
